Pat lives and works in Fife, Scotland. She retired from teaching in 2004 to become a full time artist. Already an accomplished painter, Pat began working in textiles and mixed media in 2002. She has work on show permanently in her studio at home in Glenrothes and exhibits throughout the UK. Pat’s work is remarkable for its combination of vibrant and subtle colours and is widely recognised throughout Scotland and beyond.
Pat was awarded ‘best in show’ at one of the Shell Expro exhibitions held annually in Kirkcaldy Art Gallery and Museum and enjoyed similar success in 2004 with a textile/mixed media work shown at the ‘Loose Threads’ exhibition in Perth City Hall. Other textile and mixed media pieces have been highly commended.
Pat recently won an award for one of the two best workbooks of the 30 finalists in the 2007 Charles Henry Foyle Trust Stitched Textile Award, a national open competition organised by the Redditch Needle Museum.
Pat exhibits regularly in artisanat (Perth), Pebble Blue Design Co (Helensburgh), Eduardo Allessandro Studios (Broughty Ferry, Dundee) and the Sun Gallery (Newburgh); also periodically in the the Jerdan Gallery (Crail), Iona House Gallery (Woodstock, Oxford) and the Panik Gallery (Killearn).
